1、used to do：过去常常做某事。

它表示过去经常发生的动作或存在的状态，而现在已不再存在或发生。

否定形式:used not to或didn't use to。

疑问形式:把used放句首，或把did放句首。

例如：

I used to get up early in the morning.

我过去通常起到很早。

They used to be good friends, didn't they？

他们曾经是好朋友，不是吗？

2、be used to do sth ＝be used for doing sth，被用来做某事。

例如:

The pen is used to write.＝The pen is used for writing.

钢笔被用来写字。

The computer is used to play game.=The computer is used for playing game.

电脑被用于玩游戏。

3、be used to (doing)，主语是人时，其意为习惯、适应某事/做某事。

它表示习惯于某一客观事实或状态，其中to是介词，后面跟名词、代词或动名词；

例如：

He used to taking a shower after lunch.

他过去常在午饭后洗澡。

I am used to having a cup of tea in the morning.

我习惯于早上喝一杯茶。

4、be used to (do)，主语不是人而是物时，则为被动语态，意为"被用于"。

例如：

Wood is used to make paper.

木材被用来造纸。

knives are used to cut things.

刀被用来切东西。

复数：uses。

第三人称单数：uses。

过去式：used。

过去分词：used。

现在分词：using;

use近义词辨析：

apply、employ、utilize、avail、exploit。
