invite在英语中既可以做动词,表示邀请,约请;征求,请求。也可以做名词,表示请柬,请帖。invite的用法与搭配是考试中经常考到的,要熟练掌握。

invite的用法与搭配:

一、表示“邀请”,通常为及物动词,注意以下搭配:

1、invite sb.邀请某人。

例如:

They invited lots of farmers.

他们邀请了很多农民。

2、invite sb. to +某地/活动:邀请某人到某地或参加某活动。

例如:

He invited Jack to his home last Sunday.

上周日他邀请杰克去他家了。

3、invite sb. to do sth.:邀请某人做某事。

例如:

I want to invite my friends to take a vacation in my hometown.

我想邀请我的朋友们到我的家乡度假。

有时若意思明确可省略不定式。

例如:

He didn’t invite us (to come) in.

他没有请我们进屋。

He invited us (to come) to a party.

他邀请我们参加聚会。

4、invite sb. for a drink /meal:邀请某人喝一杯/吃饭。

例如:

After the movie, she invited me for a drink.

看完电影后,她邀请我去喝了一杯。

二、有时不以人宾语,而以事作宾语。

例如:

Conversation flowed freely when the speaker invited discussion.

演讲人请大家讨论,于是人人畅所欲言。

After his speech he invited questions and comments (from the audience). 

他讲完话后请听众提问题和意见。

三、有时转指招致不好的东西(并非本意)。

例如:

Leaving the windows open is inviting thieves to enter. 

窗户不关犹如开门揖盗。

invite的过去分词怎么写?

invite的过去分词是invited。

另外,invite的过去式形式也是invited。

例句:

He invited me to his home.

他邀请我去他家。

I invited him to go to the movies.

我邀请他去看电影。

invite的名词和形容词是什么?

invite的名词:invitation,意思是请帖;邀请函。

invite的形容词:inviting,意思是吸引人的;诱人的。 

例句:

She did not accept my invitation.

她没有接受我的请求。

You can't come in without an invitation.

没有邀请函你不能进来。

1、邀请例句:

I was wondering if you would like to come over for a drink.

Would you like/care to have dinner with us on(day/date)?

2、愉快接受:

Sure.That sounds like fun.

当然,听起来不错。

That sounds great,thank you.

I'd love to,thanks.

我很乐意,谢谢。

Sure.Thanks for the invitation.

当然,谢谢邀请。

Sure.When should I be there? /Can I bring anything?

3、礼貌拒绝:

Thanks so much for the invitation, but I' m booked that evening.

谢谢邀请,但是我那晚有事。

I'm really sorry but I have other plans that night.

我很抱歉我那晚有其它安排。

I'd love to, but I already have plans.

我很想去,但是我已经有安排了。

Thanks for asking, but I'm afraid I'm busy.

谢谢问我,但是恐怕我会忙。

Oh thanks for asking, but I can’t. I've got a lot of work to do.

谢谢问我,但是我不行。我有好多事要做。

4、考虑之中:

Thanks. I'll have to check my calendar. Do you mind if I let you know on Monday?

谢谢,我查一下日历。周一回复你可以吗?

I'm not sure if my husband has already made plans.

Could I get back to you tomorrow?

我能明天回复你吗?

Sunday might not be a good day for us.
