spell怎么读

spell作“拼写，拼读”解时，一般指拼写单词，用作不及物动词，也可用作及物动词。对于spell的掌握在课文中只学习了“拼写”的意思，可是仅仅掌握这个意思是不能完全满足高考学习大纲要求的。

spell、charm、curse、hex有何区别

(1) Spell 魔咒的统称

Charm、curse、hex都属于spell。

例：

Cinderella’s fairy godmother cast a spell on her that made her rags turn into a beautiful dress.

灰姑娘的神仙教母对她施法，把她的破衣服变成了漂亮的裙子。

（2）Charm 有益或无害的魔咒

例：

The witch put a charm on the man so that his farm was never barren, even in the dry season.

女巫对这个人施了法，让他的农田永远不会贫瘠，即使是在旱季。

（3）Curse 恶意的魔咒；诅咒

例：

She had a curse placed on her that she would never make friends again.

她给她下了咒，她永远都不能交朋友了。

（4）Hex 小的坏魔咒

例：

The hex always made him sneeze when he tried to tell a lie.

这个小魔咒让他一要说谎就打喷嚏。
